We have been carrying out DSEAR and Fire Risk assessments for the Shell UK Ops property portfolio since 2009, which includes knock down and rebuilds (KDRB), re-pumps, re-tanks and shop reformats throughout England, Scotland and Wales. To ensure that all necessary information was available to carry out due diligence for this continuous programme we developed a dedicated Health, Safety and Environmental Coordination system for all of Shell's downstream operations to enable the coordination of all relevant information to be archived, accessed and issued as part of the clients various statutory H&S duties.
2012 Shell purchased 245 Total sites that were incorporated into the Shell network as part of a fast track programme where we carried out the DSEAR and Fire RA's during the re-branding and imaging of the sites. Projects included basic re-branding, re-pumps and re-tanks. These sites were then included in the HSE Coordination system developed by us. The programme identified the need for a dedicated system to be able to carry out this intense programme and we developed a system specifically for this programme. The system is now in daily use by us as part of our normal process and is called DSEAR Coordinator, which ties in with all of our systems, which can be integrated into one all encompassing system "the HSE Coordinator".
As part of an alliance with Shell and Waitrose, Shell became the fuel retailer on the Waitrose portfolio of petrol forecourts, which were incorporated into the Shell network as part of a fast track programme, where we carried out the DSEAR RA's and Shell's duties under the RRFSO, following the re-branding and imaging of the sites. These sites were then included in the HSE Coordination system so that all of the available information integrated seamlessly with the rest of the Shell network.
